Исследуется понятие стоимостной оценки алмаза. Предлагаемая стоимостная оценка алмаза основывается на стоимости максимального круглого бриллианта, который можно получить из алмаза. Построен метод, который по октаэдрическому алмазу К и заданному ε > 0 находит с точностью до ε > 0 максимальный радиус R круглого бриллианта, вложимого в К. Показывается, что трудоемкость метода растет с увеличением точности оценки, как квадрат логарифма от 1/ε. Объяснен наблюдаемый при экспериментальных расчетах феномен получения максимального R, как правило, на границе множества допустимых угловых параметров вложения круглого бриллианта в К.

The notion of the cost estimation of a row diamond is investigated. The proposed cost estimation of a row diamond is based on the cost of a round polished diamond of maximum size which could be produced from the row diamond. The method is developed by which, for any given ε > 0 and octahedral raw diamond K, one can find the maximum radius R of the round polished diamond that could be enclosed in the raw diamond K. It is shown that the complexity (labor intensity) of the method grows with the precision of the estimation as square of the logarithm of 1/ε. The phenomenon of obtaining the maximum R, as a rule, at the boundary of the set of feasible corner parameters of enclosure of a round polished diamond in the raw diamond K, which is observed under experimental calculations, is explained.
